Optimizing Your Valorant FPS Settings for Improved Performance in 2023

Johnathan Smith • 04/01/2023, 00:32

In Valorant, having a high FPS (frames per second) can give you a significant advantage over players with lower FPS. A high FPS can allow for quicker reaction times, giving you an edge in fast-paced firefights. If you're struggling to get a decent FPS on your rig, here are some tips for boosting your FPS in Valorant in 2023.

Before Launching the Game

Before launching Valorant, there are a few things you can do to set yourself up for success:

  1. Close any unnecessary applications running in the background. This includes things like Spotify, torrent clients, and the Google application (if applicable).
  2. Make sure your system meets Valorant's minimum requirements: an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU, an Intel HD 3000 GPU, 4 GB of RAM, and Windows 7.
  3. Set your Windows performance settings to be optimized for Valorant. This includes setting your power plan to high performance and turning on Game Mode.

In-Game Settings

Once you've taken care of the pre-game prep, it's time to dive into Valorant's in-game settings. Here are some options to toggle to boost your FPS:

  1. In the settings menu, turn off all FPS limiting options.
  2. In the "Others" section, consider turning off "Show Mature Content," "Show Corpses," and "Show Blood." These options can put a strain on your system and may impact your FPS.
  3. In the "Video" menu, set most of the graphics settings to the lowest setting available. The exception to this is "Improve Clarity," which can be helpful for spotting enemies.
  4. Set your display mode to "Full Screen" and your resolution to "1280X720." These settings may not significantly increase your FPS on their own, but every bit of improvement can make a difference in a fast-paced game like Valorant.

By following these tips, you should be able to boost your FPS in Valorant and take your game to the next level. Good luck!
